This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Oncology Data Specialist, Remote in the United States. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the accurate collection, management, and reporting of oncology data in a healthcare environment. The position involves abstracting and maintaining records for malignancy cases, ensuring compliance with national and state registry standards. The specialist will monitor data quality, submit data in a timely manner, and coordinate follow-up activities. Working closely with clinical teams, the role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and proficiency in medical coding and registry software. The position offers the chance to make a tangible impact on patient care while collaborating in a professional, regulated, and supportive environment. Candidates will gain experience in cancer registry operations and quality reporting processes critical to healthcare outcomes. \n Accountabilities: Abstract, identify, and maintain records for all eligible cancer cases following regulatory and registry standards. Monitor data quality and ensure timely, accurate submission to the National Cancer Data Base and Maryland Cancer Registry. Coordinate and maintain patient follow-up information. Participate in conferences, meetings, and cross-functional collaborations to ensure registry data integrity. Utilize oncology registry software and electronic health records to capture and report data accurately. Support clinical staff by analyzing registry data and providing insights for operational and quality improvement initiatives. Requirements: Certification as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS-C) is required. Minimum of one year of experience as an Oncology Data Specialist, with knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and medical office procedures. Familiarity with oncology registry databases, preferably multi-facility systems. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and maintain confidentiality. Proficiency in ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and data management tools. Excellent attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to meet deadlines. Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Bel Air, MD. Benefits: Competitive hourly pay: $30.26 - $42.37.
