Position Summary Overview: The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring that all assigned facilities and equipment are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position will oversee and supervise a team of assigned Facility Technicians and will also work closely with other supervisors or managers involved in facilities or maintenance operations. The Supervisor will need to communicate regularly with client leadership, provide clear updates/reporting, and work closely with our Facility Management Director to align service delivery with expectations. They must be reliable, detail-oriented, technically skilled, and experienced in both trades and management, with the ability to work hands-on alongside the technician team whenever needed. Essential Functions & Position Responsibilities: · Oversee the daily operation and supervision of assigned facilities and programs, including scheduling and assigning work to staff and coordinating with staff, subcontractors, and/or vendors; coaching staff; overseeing staffing and performance evaluation of assigned staff. · Clarify and resolve problems spanning multiple areas or technical fields and/or oversee or develop programs within assigned facilities. · Manage ongoing service contracts as applicable. · Participate in department/unit strategic management, including making recommendations involving short-term planning for facility-type projects and for longer-range programs/projects, and managing policies and procedures for the assigned area. · Oversee and/or monitor project activities; ensure integration with larger unit goals; coordinate with staff, subcontractors, and/or vendors. · Inspect facilities to determine any issues and necessary maintenance. · Maintain a maintenance list for each facility that includes work that is required and update this list as tasks are completed. · Prepare a maintenance calendar and perform maintenance duties as needed. · Monitor repairs, email for requests, respond promptly, and add to the calendar. · Perform routine building maintenance, including but not limited to paint touch-ups, light bulb replacement, plumbing leaks, and minor repairs. · Work with Business Operations Manager to schedule major repairs. · Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations. Minimum Requirements: · Two years of experience supervising facilities operations and maintenance staff in an environment with a variety of building types (administrative offices, classrooms, laboratories, residential & dining facilities, auditoriums, etc.). · College degree in engineering or other appropriate technical area, OR combination of technical education, training, and experience. · Strong technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing). · Knowledge of environmental and safety rules, regulations, and policies. · Excellent planning and leadership abilities. · Ability to conduct job site inspections to ensure compliance. · Demonstrated experience managing service contracts. · Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with others. · Computer proficiency with Google Workspace, MS Office, and Slack The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the people assigned to this job. Special Working Conditions: · While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles and dust. • Frequent exposure to a variety of sharp tools. • Infrequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. · Requires 24-hour response availability seven days per week for emergencies. · May be exposed to noise > 80dB TWA. · May work at heights of 4 – 10 ft.
