HOTB Software Solutions is looking for a highly motivated Associate DevOps Engineer to assist with automating highly-available and secure cloud infrastructure using AWS. In this role, you will work remotely as a member of the DevOps Engineering team playing a critical role in the software-development lifecycle. You'll be exposed to a wide variety of interesting and complex engineering problems with an opportunity to learn and grow your skillsets. You'll have a chance to create and improve scalable cloud infrastructure running custom software that serves millions of requests per day. This role involves diving deep to resolve production issues, automating manual tasks with resilient software automation, creating and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure, and writing software to deploy our applications into production. Our software delivery schedule is maintained in PST and this role must be present and operational during PST hours. Responsibilities: • Deploy web application services to production infrastructure. • Build and maintain cloud environment infrastructure using AWS. • Ensure the successful delivery and uptime of internet-facing web applications. • Assist in compliance audits (SOC2, HIPAA, FedRAMP) by automating evidence collection. • Contribute code, ideas, and solutions to our internal CI/CD process. • Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain internal development tools. • Ensure uptime of production systems serving millions of requests per day. Qualifications: • Working knowledge of major cloud hosting platforms (AWS, Azure, etc) • Working knowledge of modern web applications and database architecture • Working knowledge of deploying software services to Kubernetes. • Experience writing automation scripts in Python, JavaScript, Bash, etc. • Experience using git to deploy and automate software delivery. • Understanding of monitoring, networking, security (strong in 1 or more areas) • Broad understanding of Linux systems administration and cloud networking Desired Skills: • AWS: EC2, EKS, ELB, Route53, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch, CodeDeploy • Experience deploying and maintaining Kubernetes solutions in the cloud • Experience deploying NodeJS applications to production systems. • Experience with Build/release tools (Jenkins, TravisCI, CircleCI, etc) • Experience creating and/or hosting web applications • Experience maintaining highly available and scalable cloud environments with Terraform • Understanding of DevOps principles and its impact on software delivery • Worked with distributed systems or micro-service architecture Bonus Points for Terraform, Advanced Git Usage, and Software Automation experience.
