Company Overview: Sales Floor Associate at The Home Depot play a vital role in offering quick, friendly support by engaging with shoppers, understanding their needs, and providing the best solutions. This role contributes to the company’s mission by helping customers complete their projects while ensuring the store remains safe, clean, and easy to shop. Role and Responsibilities: In this position, you will develop product knowledge, assist customers from greeting to purchase, and recommend appropriate solutions. You will also ensure your department stays stocked, organized, and safe, while collaborating with your Department Supervisor and team members across other areas. • Proactively interact with customers to identify needs and offer assistance. • Learn products through company tools to provide accurate information. • Support customers with project completion by greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing sales in your department. • Keep shelves stocked and ensure your area is clean, safe, and shop-ready. • Assist with basic tasks in nearby departments when necessary. • Adhere to safety standards to maintain a secure work and shopping environment. • Complete required safety training and address or report unsafe conditions promptly. • Collaborate with Department Supervisors, team members in your area, and associates across the store. Required Skills and Experience: • Ability to deliver quick, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service. • Willingness to expand product expertise using company resources. • Commitment to ensuring a safe shopping and working environment. • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work effectively with supervisors and coworkers across departments. Preferred Qualifications: • Prior experience in retail sales or customer service roles. • Familiarity with home improvement categories such as Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, or Tool Rental. • Background in specialized sales roles such as Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, or Customer Order Specialist.
