Company Overview: At The Home Depot, Retail Store Associate are essential in providing prompt, friendly assistance by engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and offering effective solutions. This role supports the company’s mission by helping customers complete their projects while maintaining a clean, safe, and easy-to-navigate store environment. Role and Responsibilities: In this role, you will develop expertise in products, guide customers from initial greeting to purchase, and recommend suitable solutions. You will also ensure your department remains organized, fully stocked, and safe, collaborating closely with your Department Supervisor and team members. • Engage customers proactively to assess their needs and provide guidance. • Learn about products using company tools to deliver accurate information. • Support customers in completing projects by greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing sales within your department. • Maintain stocked shelves and ensure your area is clean, safe, and ready for customers. • Provide support to adjacent departments when necessary. • Follow safety procedures to maintain a secure shopping and work environment. • Complete required safety training and promptly address or report unsafe conditions. • Work collaboratively with Department Supervisors, teammates, and associates across the store. Required Skills and Experience: • Ability to provide fast, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service. • Willingness to enhance product knowledge using company resources. • Commitment to maintaining a safe work and shopping environment. • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across departments. Preferred Qualifications: • Previous experience in retail sales or customer service. • Familiarity with home improvement departments such as Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, or Tool Rental. • Experience in specialized sales roles including Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, or Customer Order Specialist.
