The mission of Highland Friendship Club is to serve individuals with disabilities from teens through adulthood by providing a range of opportunities to develop lifelong skills, friendships and connections within their community. As a Program Staff member, you will play an integral role in the success of our programs as well as in our members’ lives. Program Staff are responsible for the planning, safety, implementation, and evaluation of designated Highland Friendship Club (HFC) Online & In-Person Programs. Examples of HFC Programs include Arts & Crafts, Theater, Music, Cooking, and Group Fitness. Learn more about our programs and HFC here: www.highlandfriendshipclub.org Salary: $18-21/hour. Commensurate with experience. Hours: Part-time, 10-15 hours per week. Potential shifts of need: Monday evenings, Tuesday afternoons, Wednesday mornings and afternoons, Thursday afternoons, Saturday mornings and afternoons, Sunday evenings • Attend and facilitate weekday, evening, and weekend programming. • Communicate effectively with HFC staff, volunteers, and contractors in the planning and execution of programs. • Correspond with parents and caregivers as to the needs and accomplishments of their member. • Create a safe, caring, respectful environment for HFC community. • Encourage member engagement and interaction with others. • Solve problems and provide conflict resolution. • Responsible for setting up Zoom calls for online programs, tech troubleshooting during programs, and safety of HFC online programs while a program is taking place. • Address specific needs of members and families/caregivers. • Ensure member sign-in sheet complete and safe member pick up during in-person programs. • Ensure that all members are safely retrieved by their parents/caregivers at the end of the program. • Prepare written incident and accident reports promptly and report to Program Director within 24 hours of incident. • Record observations and collect data when required for reporting purposes. • Take pictures and share with Community Engagement Manager • Attend scheduled staff meetings. • Respect confidentiality. Specific Skills and Competencies: • Strong communication skills (especially working with people with disabilities) • Energetic, positive team player • Organized, motivated, assertive, compassionate • Punctual • Critical thinking skills • Confidence in ability to trouble shoot basic technology issues that may arise during online programming Work Experience Requirements: • 2+ years of experience working with people with disabilities, or degree in related field.
