Full Description

The Physician Medical Director provides clinical leadership and oversight for the Resident Physician Clinic, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and an optimal educational environment for resident physicians. This role bridges clinical operations and graduate medical education by guiding residents in evidence-based practice, professionalism, and systems-based care while maintaining compliance with institutional and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct clinical supervision and mentorship to resident physicians during clinic sessions. Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care consistent with institutional policies and best practice standards. Collaborate with the residency program leadership to integrate educational objectives into clinical operations. Oversee clinical workflow, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety efforts within the clinic. Monitor resident performance in the outpatient setting, provide formative feedback, and participate in resident evaluation for patient care, medical knowledge, systems-based practice, professionalism, interpersonal communication, and practice-based learning. Serve as liaison between the clinic administration, faculty, and residency program leadership to address operational, educational, and patient care issues. Participate in the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and protocols. Support compliance with ACGME, institutional, and departmental requirements.
