Master's degree in PA or NP with psychiatric specialization, state licensure, DEA license, BCLS certification, and psychiatric-mental health board certification required.
We are growing our Advanced Practice Provider team at our new state-of-the art facility where we provide exceptional mental health treatment services for individuals. At Henry Ford This position will be responsible for caring for our inpatient hospital patients. • Provides inpatient and/or outpatient psychiatric care with the supervision, and consultation of medical staff • Completes psychiatric evaluations, performs a mental status examination, orders and interprets tests. • Makes diagnoses and institutes and conducts appropriate treatment plans. Works in collaboration with other team members which may include medicine, social work, nursing, psychology, behavioral techs, physicians in other departments as well as support staff. • Performs nursing functions independently. • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant performs provider-level clinical duties including face-to-face patient assessments, response to medical emergencies in-house, and coordination of any necessary patient transfers EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: • Requires Master's Degree (MSN) in Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMH) Nursing or other MSN with additional coursework for eligibility for (PMH) Board Certification OR Requires Bachelor's Degree and completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse,and certified from MI State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) and ANA/ANCC Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). OR Michigan state licensure; and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA). • Requires DEA License and BCLS certificate
