Medical Assistant - Pediatrics - Part Time (20Hrs)/Days - Plymouth (Beck Rd) $1000.00 Sign-on Bonus Part-Time Benefit Eligible Shift: Full Time - 40 Hours - Day Shift (One late night a week and one Saturday a month) Office Hours - Monday/Thursday 8AM-8PM, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8AM-5PM, 2nd/3rd Saturday of Month 8AM-12PM Location: Beck Road Medical Center - 14300 Beck Rd Plymouth, MI 48170 Department Information: Founded in 1915, the Henry Ford Medical Group (HFMG) has established itself as one of the premier group practices in the nation. GENERAL SUMMARY: Under direct supervision of the provider and nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the quality and compassionate care provided to patients. These duties may include but are not limited to the greeting and escorting of patients to the exam room, obtaining medical histories, the measurement and recording of vital signs, preparing patients for an examination/procedure, and assisting the provider during the examination/procedure. Responsibilities: • Greet and assist patients upon arrival • Obtain and record patient medical histories and vital signs • Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians during exams • Administer medications and injections as directed by a physician • Perform basic lab tests and collect/prep lab specimens • Schedule patient appointments and manage medical records • Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and handle patient correspondence • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments and exam rooms • Provide patient education and instructions on medical procedures or care • Assist in minor surgical procedures and wound care • Manage inventory and order medical supplies as needed • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain patient confidentiality EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred. • Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills as related to ambulatory patient care preferred. • Ability to problem-solve preferred. • Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred. • EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred. Additional Requirements: • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). • OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. • OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. • OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). • OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. • OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: • Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation. #LI-RW1
