Full Description

The Henry Ford Health Sterling Heights Emergency Department is a 15-bed free-standing facility. Our staff has a close working relationship. The physicians, nurses, and technicians are all centrally located for ease of collaboration and communication, which leads to a positive work environment. While a small ED, we are fast paced and work well together. We are looking for candidates to join our team. GENERAL SUMMARY: Assist with patient care based on individual needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of a registered nurse or Provider. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. • BCLS certification required. • Previous Emergency Department Technician, Medical Assistant experience preferred. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: One of the following certifications/programs required: • B-EMT • Graduate from a formal Medical Assistant program. • Completion of a formal nursing education program. • Completion of a formal medical doctor education program • OR One (1) year of applicable Emergency Room Technical experience in lieu of above completed certification/program. Additional Requirements: • (Must complete applicable certification/program within 12 months of hire). • Successful completion of a 180-day orientation period required. • EMT license preferred.
