Epic certifications preferred, prior Epic application support experience, knowledge of healthcare workflows, strong analytical and communication skills, and a bachelor's degree preferred.
Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Epic Business Analyst to support the design, build, and optimization of Epic applications within HCN’s enterprise systems. This role focuses on leveraging analytical and problem-solving skills to identify business needs, translate them into functional requirements, and implement effective Epic-based solutions that improve clinical and operational workflows. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and end-users to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing optimization of Epic modules supporting Population Health, Community Health, and Public Health initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the primary liaison between business units, end-users, and technical teams to gather and document detailed business requirements. • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support informed decision-making. • Troubleshoot application and workflow issues independently or in collaboration with Application Teams and stakeholders. • Design and propose technical and process solutions that align with business goals and organizational objectives. • Partner with project and oversight teams to implement solutions and ensure operational alignment. • Communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders and leadership. • Develop, document, and maintain detailed business requirements, process maps, and solution documentation. • Participate in testing, validation, and deployment of new system features and configurations. • Identify and implement process improvements to support continuous optimization and efficiency. • Manage and submit change requests in collaboration with the Change Advisory Board (CAB), ensuring adherence to change management protocols including documentation, testing, and implementation. • Collaborate with end-users to design, build, and enhance Epic system functionality. • Work incidents, service requests, and tickets within established service-level agreements (SLAs). • Perform daily monitoring of applications to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance. • Provide Epic product design, build, and testing expertise for assigned Epic modules. • Collaborate with other Epic teams to ensure system integration and workflow consistency. • Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality. • Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and Epic system functionality. • Knowledge of Population Health, Community Health, and Public Health workflows. • Familiarity with healthcare information systems and end-to-end healthcare operations. • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Strong documentation and organizational skills with attention to detail. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across technical and operational teams. • Experience engaging cross-functional stakeholders to support business and clinical objectives. Education and Experience • Epic Certifications preferred: EpicCare Ambulatory • Epic Certifications considered: EpicCare Ambulatory, Epic Healthy Planet (Clinical and/or Analytics), Cogito Tools Administration • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field preferred. • Prior experience supporting Epic applications in a business analyst or similar role preferred. • Customer service or application support experience in a healthcare or FQHC environment is a plus.
