We are looking for a dedicated Data Analyst Clinical OR Scheduling like you to be a part of our team. Job Summary and Qualifications We are seeking a highly skilled and domain-fluent Operating Room Scheduling Data Analyst to support strategic decision-making through deep analysis of surgical scheduling data across multiple Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. This role is critical to optimizing OR utilization, improving scheduling workflows, and informing leadership on key performance indicators (KPIs), process improvements, and system design. In this role you will: • Data Sourcing & Integration • Assist with validation of extracted, clean, and harmonized scheduling data from multiple EHR platforms (e.g., Meditech, Meditech Expanse, Cerner, Epic). • Support Data Engineers with validation of data sourced from pipelines that support real-time and retrospective analysis. • Data Analysis & Insights • Analyze OR scheduling patterns, utilization rates, block time efficiency, and cancellation trends. • Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement. • Translate complex data into actionable insights for operational and clinical leadership. • Process & KPI Development • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and refine KPIs related to OR scheduling and throughput. • Design and build end-user solutions for KPI reporting using Power BI, ensuring intuitive and actionable dashboards tailored to leadership needs. • System & Workflow Design • Provide recommendations for system configuration and workflow redesign based on data findings. • Partner with IT and clinical teams to ensure data integrity and alignment with operational goals. • Domain Expertise • Serve as a subject matter expert in OR scheduling processes, including block scheduling, case prioritization, and surgeon preferences. • Understand how scheduling data flows through EHR systems and impacts downstream operations. Qualifications: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Health Informatics, Business Analytics, Data Science, or related field. Equivalent work experience may substitute degree requirement. • 3+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, preferably in perioperative or surgical services with HCA EHR systems. • At least 3 to 5 years' experience performing significant data and process analysis, including ad hoc queries, metric development, process flows and comparative analyses. (e.g. Tableau, Microstrategy, Visual Insight, SQL, Power BI, Python/R, etc.) • Previous experience or understanding of operating room workflows and scheduling practices with demonstrated process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes required. • Demonstrated understanding of data modeling (relationships, data types, tables, etc.) and analytics concepts (queries, reporting, and association of data sources) required.
