Manage shipments including preparing, packing, receiving, tracking inventory, and coordinating with departments to ensure smooth shipment flow.
High school diploma or GED, physical ability to handle packages, proficiency with shipping technology, strong organization, and communication skills.
This is a 1099-NEC independent contractor role (so a W-9 will need to be completed). Hours are either 10am to 4pm, or 11am to 5pm (your choice), Mon through Fri / 6 hours/day, 30 hours per week. Compensation is $19/hr and is paid twice a month (on the 16th, and 31st). Core responsibilities Shipment management: Prepare and send all outgoing products, materials, and supplies. Inventory and records: Track inventory levels, verify incoming and outgoing shipments, and maintain accurate records. Packing and preparing: Pack items, weigh them, print shipping labels, and process postage. Receiving and unloading: Unload shipments, inspect incoming goods for damage, and distribute products to other departments. Coordination: Communicate with other departments, logistics technicians, and service providers to ensure smooth shipment flow. Administrative tasks: Track shipment status, handle associated paperwork, and update records. Qualifications and skills Education: High school diploma or GED is typically required. Physical ability: Ability to lift and move heavy packages, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks. Technical skills: Proficiency with computers, shipping software, scanners, and scales. Organizational skills: Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management are essential. Soft skills: Good communication and problem-solving abilities are necessary for working with others and addressing issues. We are located just a couple blocks from the 17th St/SMC Metro train station, so easy to get to via public transportation.
