Store Manager - Wine & Cheese Shop [part-time] If you’re a hospitality-driven leader who loves great food, warm experiences, and the charm of a neighborhood cheese shop, this part-time Store Manager role is perfect for you. Greys Fine Cheeses is the only specialty retail cheese shop in Nashville with a second location in downtown Franklin at The Factory. We know cheese! We are family-owned offering the finest artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, accoutrements and wine to our turophiles (cheese lovers). In this role you will help us shape the daily rhythm of the shop—cultivating an inviting environment, guiding our FOH team, and ensuring guests enjoy an exceptional visit. With a balance of hands-on service, team development, scheduling, and operational oversight, this role gives you the chance to make a meaningful impact without the demands of full-time management. You will be responsible for keeping the shop running smoothly behind the scene making you an essential part of our small business. About our role . . . DINING ROOM SERVICE: • Assist owners in overseeing the day to day operation of cheese shop • Maintain staff schedule. Schedule labor ensuring all positions are staffed when staff is off or sick. Ensure all shifts are covered. • Identify and manage all aspects pertinent to providing guests with the atmosphere standard set owners upon opening (lighting, music, volume, appearance, cleanliness) • Conduct meetings with staff keeping them informed about developments • Conduct staff interviews and make recommendations for observations and hiring. • Demonstrate commitment to making all current staff and management better via training. • Ensure continuous improvement in quality of service, operational effectiveness, and employee retention and satisfaction. • Support FOH team in all aspects of service. • GENERAL OPERATIONS – LABOR, SOFTWARE, MAINTENANCE • Responsible for verifying daily time clock entries and making corrections if necessary • Ensure all HR paperwork and on-boarding process/documents are complete and submitted for payroll. • Ensure all annual business licenses are renewed in a timely manner working with ownership • Order and re-stock all restaurant supplies (cheeseboards platters, cheese film, etc). • Check restaurant office voicemail and correspond as necessary. • Understand all systems in the restaurant and ensure that each is in working order - restaurant POS, ordering with suppliers, etc. • Maintain log of inventory transfers between locations. (Nashville/Franklin) • Post/Print weekly schedule of events and staff schedule (GREYS calendar) • Coordinate any meetings regarding repairs and maintenance • Serve as primary liaison with all exterior maintenance agencies, city inspectors etc. • Serve as point of contact for landlord. ACCOUNTING: • Prepare bi-weekly payroll file. • Organize and maintain invoices for proper record keeping • Ensure invoices are correct versus products ordered/received. Work with vendor issuing credits if shorted items. • Prepare weekly deposit for bank and maintain proper change in the drawer. About You . . . • Have a passion for hospitality. • Excellent communication and organization skills. • Fluency in Excel, preferred • Prior experience with POS systems ,preferred Additional Information . . . • Compensation - $20 - $22 per hour, based on experience • Schedule - Tuesday - Friday 10:45 am - 3:30 pm (20 hours per week) • Occasionally work a Saturday during holiday season [closed all major holidays] • Passion for wine and cheese and desire to continue to learn. • Driver’s license and reliable transportation • Must be of legal age in TN state regulations to serve alcohol & have a valid TN ABC license.
