A leading national manufacturer and service provider in the industrial furnace and control systems sector is seeking a Field Service Technician to join their Dayton, OH team. This is a highly specialized, hands-on role involving national travel, technical field support, and system troubleshooting for high-performance control panel systems. If you’re a skilled technician with electrical-mechanical expertise and the ability to work independently in industrial environments, this is a rewarding long-term opportunity. Position Overview • Salary: $80,000–$90,000 (based on experience) • Travel: 5–8 days/month, typically within the U.S. • Schedule: Full-time, salaried, Monday–Friday • Location: Based in the Dayton, OH metro area (local candidates preferred) Primary Responsibilities • Travel to customer sites to install, test, and service furnace control systems • Wire machinery and run conduit (rigid and EMT) • Build and troubleshoot control panels and combustion systems • Diagnose PLC, AC/DC, and relay logic issues (Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi systems are a plus) • Provide technical guidance to in-house production teams • Maintain accurate service records and communicate clearly with customers Qualifications • Associate degree in Electrical, Controls, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience) • 2+ years of experience in control panel wiring, electrical systems, or industrial field service • Proficient in reading wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics • Familiarity with 240/480V circuits, PLCs, relay logic, pneumatics, and hydraulics • Comfortable working in hot, loud, and dusty environments (foundries, manufacturing plants) • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel nationally • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills Compensation & Benefits • Annual Salary: $80,000–$90,000 • Paid Time Off: 120 hours annually with accelerated accrual • Holidays: 7 paid holidays annually • Travel Support: $70/day per diem + full lodging and meals reimbursement • Company Vehicle provided for field service • Health Insurance and 401(k) plan eligibility • Company-issued credit card, tools, PPE, laptop, and phone stipend About the Company This employer is a well-established industrial systems firm with nearly a century of experience designing, building, and servicing customized furnace and automation systems.
