Full Description

A busy General Surgery private practice is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist with prior Medical Assistant experience, with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time role. As a new hire, you will begin employment under our private practice and possibly transition to employment with Henry Ford Hospital after 6–9 months. Key Responsibilities • Handle patient phone calls related to medical care and follow-up • Room patients, obtain vitals, and possibly assist with in-office procedures • Prepare patients for minor procedures, remove sutures, and support post-operative care • Perform office appointment scheduling. • Complete additional administrative and clinical tasks as assigned • Travel twice weekly to our Southfield/Howell locations • Check patients in and out and ensure new patient forms are completed during travel days • Prepare charts and enter patient medical/surgical history into our EClinicalWorks (ECW) system • Obtain both surgical prior authorizations and radiology prior authorizations. Preferred Qualifications • Current CMA certification preferred but not required • Experience using EClinicalWorks (ECW) or EPIC • Strong understanding of clinic workflow • Ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with providers • Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support colleagues • STRONG communication skills and be able to properly address our physicians with patient questions and concerns.
