The company’s mission is to invent the future of flight by advancing safe, sustainable aviation while developing and empowering diverse talent through its FLIGHT DECK lean operating model. ## Role Summary This is a Supply Chain Operations Intern role for Summer 2026 (returning students) supporting GE Aerospace U.S. sites, focused on materials management and sourcing activities that enable manufacturing and delivery of engine components. The internship provides hands-on exposure to shop-floor operations, supplier interactions, and continuous-improvement practices, and is a strong pathway for candidates interested in post-graduate leadership programs (e.g., OMLP). ## Key Responsibilities - Support materials management activities including forecasting, planning, fulfillment, logistics, and distribution - Assist sourcing tasks such as strategic commodity support, contract structuring, negotiation, and supplier management - Learn and apply state-of-the-art manufacturing and repair methods for component hardware and engine assembly - Support delivery efforts for sourced components by coordinating with internal shops and external suppliers - Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to improve productivity, on-time delivery, process capability, and operational stability - Maintain quality standards through risk assessment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and statistical process controls - Support Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives to ensure safe work conditions - Build project management, negotiation, and business acumen through on-the-job assignments and cross-functional collaboration ## Required Qualifications - Prior GE Aerospace internship experience (required) - Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale (no rounding) - Currently enrolled full-time in a nationally accredited bachelor’s or graduate program - Availability and willingness to work at any of GE Aerospace’s 35+ U.S. locations - Reliable transportation (many sites lack public transit options) - Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; company will not sponsor employment visas for this opening - Ability to pass background investigation and drug screen as conditions of employment - Meet U.S. Person status for access to export-controlled information (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee/refugee, etc.) - Relevant majors include (but are not limited to): Computer Engineering; Computer Science; Industrial Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Materials Science/Engineering; Manufacturing Engineering; Logistics Management; Operations Management; Supply Chain Management; Business Administration with operations or supply chain focus ## Preferred Qualifications - Prior internship, co-op, or military experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or engineering - Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies - Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and strong communication skills - Analytical mindset and problem-solving ability; comfortable challenging and improving existing processes - Demonstrated community or university involvement - Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop-floor environment around machine tools and equipment ## Compensation & Benefits - Starting pay begins at $20.00 per hour (rates increase with each undergraduate year completed) - Relocation support and housing assistance available for candidates relocating to a new city - Professional development opportunities, challenging assignments, and competitive compensation - Equal Opportunity Employer with benefits and programs consistent with GE Aerospace policies ## Company Culture & Values GE Aerospace emphasizes respect for people, continuous improvement, and collaborative teamwork through its FLIGHT DECK operating model.
