Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the System Architect/Senior Systems Engineer position. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented group of individuals committed to driving success. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and sustaining advanced Command and Control (C2), Battle Management (BM), and Intelligence systems across multi-domain mission environments. This role ensures that our development agency capabilities meet mission needs for real-time decision support, sensor fusion, tracking, space domain awareness, and integrated fire control. The engineer will lead architecture development, modernization efforts, interoperability design, and technical integration across joint, coalition, and interagency partners. This position requires a deep understanding of complex system-of-systems architectures, cybersecurity compliance, modeling and simulation, integrated tactical networks, and the unique requirements of Space and Missile Defense C2 environments. Key Responsibilities The Systems Architect/Senior Systems Engineer will: · Develop and maintain our development agency system architectures, DoDAF products, and interface definitions · Lead requirements analysis, traceability, and architectural risk mitigation across C2, sensor, and mission systems · Support design reviews (SRR/PDR/CDR) and ensure system alignment through Architecture Review Boards · Design and integrate system-of-systems interfaces for BM/C2, sensors, weapons, space, and missile defense networks · Coordinate interoperability with GCCS, SBIRS, C2BMC, JADC2 systems, Link-16, and coalition data-sharing platforms · Ensure implementation of required data standards (TADILs, MIL-STD-6016, XML, VMF, NET-centric formats) · Conduct mission analysis, trade studies, CONOPS development, and modeling/simulation to evaluate system performance · Recommend enhancements to improve speed, resiliency, lethality, and automation across multi-domain operations · Ensure compliance with RMF, Zero Trust, DISA STIGs, and support A&A documentation, POA&Ms, and ATO activities · Provide senior-level technical leadership and coordinate with development, test, and integration teams · Support integration/test events (FQT, DT/OT, JEL/HEL, Wargames, LVC) and develop verification/test strategies · Deliver technical troubleshooting, field support, and system sustainment guidance Required Skills & Experience The Systems Architect/Senior Systems Engineer must have: · Active Secret clearance · 10+ years of systems engineering or architecture experience in DoD/IC environments · Expertise in BMC2, IAMD, Space Domain Awareness, and system-of-systems integration across C2, sensors, radars, and ISR systems · Expertise with DoDAF, SysML, MBSE tools (Cameo/MagicDraw), and requirements management (DOORS/JAMA) · Strong architecture design skills, including distributed systems, data fusion, middleware, and pub/sub frameworks · Knowledge of cloud, containerization, virtualization (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker) · Experienced with RMF, Zero Trust, ICD 503, DISA STIGs, A&A processes, and cybersecurity controls · Familiar working with Joint forces, Combatant Commands, MDA, USSF, and multi-agency partners · Effective technical leader with strong communication and the ability to manage priorities in classified, fast-paced environments Education & Certifications The Systems Architect/Senior Systems Engineer must meet the following: Required • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related discipline Preferred • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or related technical field • INCOSE ASEP/CSEP/ESEP • MBSE tool certifications (Cameo/MagicDraw) • DoD 8570 IAT/IAM Level II or III (Security+, CASP, CISSP) • DAWIA/DAF Certification in Engineering or Program Management • ITIL Foundation Benefits • Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance • Flexible Spending Accounts • 401(k) • PTO • Paid Parental Leave • Tuition reimbursement • Paid federal holidays Security Clearance Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required.
