The Food Service Aide performs various duties for patient tray set-up and delivery; responsible for cleaning and sanitation duties of food service area and equipment/tools. Responsibilities of this position include: • Check patient trays for order accuracy; delivers trays to patients and follows through with additional patient requests; tracks tray delivery; picks up trays from nursing units • Checks patients identification following proper procedure for proper tray delivery • Sets up dish room; uses proper process for collecting dirty dishes, washing dishes and operating dish machine. Performs daily cleaning tasks on kitchen equipment and work areas • Records dish machine temperature and Ph of three compartment sinks • Returns clean dishware, utensils, pots and pans to appropriate areas of cafeteria and kitchen • Empties garbage from kitchen and dishroom and places in proper area • Answers telephone and responds to requests in an appropriate manner • Refills hand towel and soap dispensers as needed Requirements of this position include: • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors • Commitment to quality customer service • High School Diploma or GED preferred
