Provide on-site installation, maintenance, repair, technical support, training, and parts management for laser machines with extensive travel.
3+ years as a Field Service Engineer with strong electro-mechanical background, CNC and laser technology experience, technical degree or equivalent, and willingness to travel extensively.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to provide exceptional technical support, installation, maintenance, and repair services for our state-of-the-art laser machines. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver with a strong electro-mechanical background and a passion for customer satisfaction. This role involves extensive travel to customer sites. Major Responsibilities • Installation & Commissioning: Perform on-site installation, setup, calibration, and commissioning of new laser machines. • Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Conduct routine preventive maintenance (PM) to ensure optimal machine performance and minimize downtime. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues to perform effective repairs. • Technical Support: Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers, resolving issues promptly and efficiently. Offer expert guidance to customers on machine operation and basic maintenance. • Training: Train end-users and customer maintenance personnel on the safe operation, daily maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of the equipment. • Documentation: Prepare and submit detailed service reports, field service reports, and parts usage records in a timely manner. Document technical problems and solutions for knowledge sharing. • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with customers, acting as a trusted technical advisor and representing the company professionally. • Continuous Improvement: Provide valuable feedback from the field to the engineering and product management teams to contribute to product improvement and development. • Parts Management: Manage the existing spare parts inventory and coordinate with the logistics team to order required parts based on the aircraft models in the region. Position Requirements • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field. Equivalent hands-on experience will be considered. • Proven experience (3+ years preferred) as a Field Service Engineer, preferably in the laser cutting, CNC machinery, or capital equipment industry. • Strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems, CNC controls, servo drives, and high-voltage power supplies. • Hands-on experience with CO2 and/or Fiber laser technology is a significant advantage. • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach. • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform under pressure. • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75% or more), both domestically and internationally, often on short notice. • Valid local driver's license and passport.
