Who We Are For 23 years, Florida Lung & Sleep Associates (FLSA) has served as the regional leader in respiratory and sleep health. We are a "Center of Excellence" a fast-paced, high-volume practice dedicated to keeping patients healthy and out of the hospital. We are looking for a Patient Care Coordinator who can match our high standards. You are the "First Impression" of our practice; your ability to manage the flow of the office sets the tone for the patient's entire experience. The Role This is not a quiet desk job. We need a highly motivated multitasker who excels under pressure. You will manage the Check-In and Check-Out process, ensuring accurate data entry while treating every patient with empathy and respect. Responsibilities: • The Welcome: Greet patients professionally, verify demographics/insurance, and ensure all registration paperwork is complete. • Flow Management: Track patient movement in the waiting room to minimize wait times and notify clinical staff of arrivals. • Scheduling: Handle complex scheduling, including follow-up appointments, procedure bookings, and diagnostic testing. • Financials: Accurately collect co-pays, deductibles, and past-due balances. Explain financial responsibilities clearly to patients. • Communication: Answer high-volume phone lines, triage messages, and process prescription refill requests. • Records: Enter data into Athena EMR, scan documents, and ensure strict attention to detail in patient files. What You Bring to the Table • Experience: Minimum 1 year of Medical Receptionist/Front Desk experience is required. • Tech Stack: Experience with Athena EMR is highly preferred. Computer literacy and keyboarding speed are required. • Bilingual: Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred. • Soft Skills: You must be able to multitask without losing your cool. We value team players who are organized, empathetic, and reliable. • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required (must possess strong reading and math skills for financial calculations).
