The Underwriting Assistant provides support and assistance to assigned underwriters by creating settlement statements and proofreading title policies. Responsibilities also include tracking customer service requests and maintaining correspondence with clients and local offices.
A Bachelor's Degree is preferred along with 1-3 years of clerical or administrative experience. Proficiency in MS Office and strong organizational skills are essential for this role.

What We Do Provides support and assistance to assigned underwriter(s). Responsibilities include creating settlement statements and proofreading title polices. HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE Create settlement statements in a timely and accurate fashion. Creating and proofreading of title policies, invoicing, revisions to our commitment and performance using company software and survey readings Preparing correspondence as it relates back to title reports/commitments. Track customer service requests and frequent phone and e-mail correspondence with both the local office and clients. Efficiently organize and prioritize day to day routine tasks utilizing offshore resources to assist in more clerical tasks. Knowledge of when to order additional searches, request additional documents as needed by local jurisdiction or practices Check requests/Agent splits of premium Follow-up on recorded documents and policies using offshore as needed Survey & PZR requests and follow-up Create and maintain lien charts for portfolios Refund of overages Work with underwriter on clearing Trial Balance regularly Other duties as assigned WHAT YOU’LL BRING Bachelor's Degree preferred 1-3 years of clerical or administrative experience preferred Proficient in MS Office Demonstrated ability to collaborate and act decisively Demonstrated strong attention to detail as well as ability to independently multi-task and prioritize daily work Proven excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize with timely follow up Utilizes technology as needed Pay Range: $18.65-$24.87 hourly This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
