Plan, coordinate, and evaluate maintenance personnel activities ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and cost goals are met.
At least 1 year experience in food processing engineering or related field, knowledge of electrical processes, safety, USDA standards, and proficiency in Word and Excel.
Position Summary The Maintenance Supervisor plans, coordinates, and evaluates the activities of the hourly maintenance personnel for daily operation. Responsibilities • Ensure goals and objectives are achieved pertaining to safety, quality, productivity, and cost. • Manage preventative maintenance program to assure continuous operation of equipment. • Develop maintenance staff by coaching and training employees. • Directing and supervising activities of maintenance staff and ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures. • Responsible for corrective action of direct reports, counseling, disciplining, planning, monitoring, and appraising work performance. • Delegate and coordinate day-to-day assignments to the maintenance personnel. • Provide production supervisors with the support and resources that are requested in a timely, appropriate manner. • Recommends new materials, processes, equipment, and procedures to enhance and improve the functioning of the plant. • Assure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout all operations and processes. • Coordinating with other department heads to facilitate collaborative operations and minimize production interruptions • Available to respond as needed during off shifts for immediate needs of maintenance • Provide a daily recap of maintenance work and issues to the Maintenance Manager • Track and control inventory to ensure parts are readily available Qualifications • Minimum 1-year experience in food processing engineering or related field is desired. • Needs to understand electrical processes & procedures • Candidate should be well rounded in safety, security, quality, USDA, productivity, and employee empowerment. • Commitment to excellence and high standards. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Work is performed in a manufacturing and office environment.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
