Part-Time Publishing & Editorial Assistant (Optometry Student – up to 20 hrs/week) Remote | Flexible Hours | Paid | Ideal for Optometry Students Eyes On Eyecare is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated Publishing & Editorial Assistant to support our content and news operations. This role is perfect for optometry students looking to deepen their industry knowledge while gaining hands-on experience in medical publishing, writing, and digital content management. What You’ll Do Write short news briefs, articles, or interview-based pieces that align with our editorial guidelines and SEO best practices. Develop cheat sheets, differential diagnosis guides, and other study guides to accompany clinical content. Support the development of CE/CME lecture materials for our live and enduring education. Research updates to optometry school programs, licensing requirements, CE rules, and other annual changes—then revise our content accordingly. Verify citations and references in clinical articles. What You’ll Be Working On You’ll work on a wide range of optometry and ophthalmology content, including: Clinical cheat sheets, differential diagnosis guides, and tutorials Career articles, surveys, and practice management content 300-word industry news briefs Educational pieces developed from research or interviews with doctors and key opinion leaders Qualifications Required: Strong written communication skills and close attention to detail Ability to work at least 2 hours between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET for training and collaboration (remaining hours are fully flexible) Enthusiasm for staying informed about eyecare industry trends At least 10 hours and up to 20 hours of availability per week Preferred: Experience in content writing, editing, or publishing—especially in medical or marketing settings 1+ years of experience in editing, proofreading, data entry, or similar Familiarity with Google Docs, Sheets, & Looker Studio
