THE ROLE: SALES DIRECTOR, SOUTHEAST EMJ is seeking a passionate and driven Sales Director to expand our business across all retailers in the Midwest, including Dollar General, Publix, and HEB. The goal is to elevate relationships through innovation acceptance, Growth Summit meeting development, off-shelf support, and ongoing growth. A proactive attitude and the ability to consistently perform within a values-driven company with frequently changing priorities are essential. The role requires making decisions and working independently with limited guidance, while maintaining an efficiency and growth-oriented mindset. The Sales Director reports directly to the Senior Sales Director with additional support from Sales Planning, Shopper Marketing and Broker Partners. Opportunities for new experiences to demonstrate leadership and growth are limitless. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Build and Execute Strategy: Develop, build and track a comprehensive business plan working cross-functionally to execute activation plans both online and offline, using insight to ensure that the Brand and Marketing strategies are represented in the retailer environment to hit specific KPI's. • Growth Driver: Identify levers to drive continue growth through core velocity, new innovation acceptance, POD expansion, and lower funnel executions including promotion, digital activations, in-store displays, and shelf signage to reach our core consumer. • Data Analytics: Analyze syndicated and account specific data to determine key business trends and actionable recommendations for business opportunities, while developing effective presentations that outline current market conditions, category trends, customer needs, consumer insights, shelf recommendations, expanded distribution, and our competitive advantages. • Budget Management: Lead development of annual shipment forecast updated monthly, utilizing information from POS and order data analysis coupled with business intelligence including promotions, assortment updates, competitive activity, and growth objectives; working to drive growth while spending with trade budget rate. THE CANDIDATE: Candidates must be highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills and experience working cross-functionally. While this candidate is driven and hits key milestones, also has a remarkable ability to remain calm and flexible in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, high growth collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be an intelligent team player - someone approachable with a positive, innovative and professional attitude who works smarter, not harder, and takes on a "sleeves-rolled-up" and a "can-do" attitude when faced with challenges. CAPABILITIES & SKILLS REQUIRED: • 7-10 years working in a sales role for a consumer goods company, 5+ years recent experience working with national grocery retailers. • Must be results oriented. Ability to think both strategically and tactically with a track record of taking ownership and driving meaningful results. • Ability to manage requirements for multiple projects working with peers offering clear prioritization, planning, and task delegation. • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to be held accountable for delivering superior results on time and on budget. • Team player possessing strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships & communicate with all levels of management. • Strong work ethic and ability to excel in remote sales environment with limited oversight. • Organized, positive, and high-energy individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to execute with high attention to detail. • Proactive approach to anticipate issues and provide solutions.
