Description Security Supervisor Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Security Supervisor to lead and manage all security operations during assigned shifts, ensuring the safety of our guests, team members, and property at Ellis Island Casino and Hotel. The Security Supervisor is responsible for enforcing company policies, procedures, and service standards while promoting a culture grounded in our core values. Responsibilities • Oversee all security operations and personnel during the assigned shift, assuming full responsibility for the safety and security of guests, team members, and property. • Ensure all guests and team members comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures. • Supervise, motivate, train, schedule, and evaluate performance of Security Officers on shift, maintaining accurate and up-to-date training records. • Conduct pre-shift briefings using prepared documentation and issue daily assignment sheets to ensure clear expectations and task coverage. • Monitor completion of all required reports, logs, and documentation; review and approve incident reports to ensure accuracy and completeness. • Account for all security equipment and ensure its proper use, functionality, and availability during the shift. • Coordinate and communicate effectively with other departments and external agencies during incidents, emergencies, or routine operations. • Demonstrate strong situational awareness and the ability to remain alert and responsive in a high-risk, fast-paced environment. • Exhibit sound judgment and decision-making, especially during emergencies or sensitive incidents, while adhering to established protocols and maintaining professionalism. • Promote a culture of accountability and integrity, lead by example in upholding company values and ethical standards. • Resolve conflicts diplomatically and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with both team members and external partners. • Identify and respond proactively to potential issues; adapt to changing situations and assume additional responsibilities without direct supervision. • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing; present information confidently and respond to questions or concerns with professionalism. • Uphold and enforce organizational policies and procedures consistently and fairly, even under pressure or in crisis situations. • Strive for excellence and accuracy in all tasks, including documentation, inspections, and enforcement of standards. • Manage time and responsibilities effectively to meet deadlines and organizational goals, including working extended hours as needed. • Foster a positive team environment, encouraging open communication, shared responsibility, and mutual respect among all staff. • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, adhering to departmental schedules and all company policies. Skills / Experience • High school diploma or GED required. • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field; prior experience in a hospitality or gaming environment strongly preferred. • Strong understanding of security operations, surveillance procedures, emergency response, and relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations. • Proven ability to lead, train, and develop team members while fostering a respectful, accountable, and service-driven culture. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write clear, concise reports and speak confidently in group settings. • Strong decision-making and conflict-resolution abilities; able to remain calm and effective in high-pressure or emergency situations. • Capable of maintaining accurate records, monitoring multiple tasks simultaneously, and ensuring procedural compliance. • Must be able to obtain a Nevada Gaming Registration Card. • The ability to submit to a background check and drug test is required. Physical Requirements • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member must be able to work inside and continuously maneuver in and around and throughout the property standing and/or walking a majority of their shift. • The Team Member will seldom crawl but will occasionally climb, crouch, kneel, lift, push or pull, reach above their shoulders, squat, and twist. • The Team Member will frequently walk up and down stairs. • Must be able to tolerate extreme weather conditions such as hot and cold. • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust. • The Team Member occasionally will be required to lift anywhere from 5-75+ pounds with or without assistance.
