Job Overview Busy speciality dental office seeking a friendly, reliable Dental Receptionist. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude and experience working in a dental office. Knowledge with Open Dental. Duties • Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette, handling multi-line phone systems efficiently • Schedule appointments using dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring optimal patient flow • Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing and collections • Assist dental providers during procedures by preparing instruments and materials, maintaining sterilization protocols, and supporting patient comfort • Manage electronic health records (EHR systems) including Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, and other EMR platforms to ensure accurate documentation review and data entry • Handle medical billing and coding tasks using CPT codes, ICD-10/ICD-9 codes for procedures and diagnoses in compliance with HIPAA regulations • Maintain organized medical records, file paperwork accurately, and ensure confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA standards • Perform administrative support tasks such as typing reports, updating care plans, managing clinic supplies, and supporting office management activities Requirements • Proven experience in a dental office or healthcare setting with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical administrative procedures • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms; experience with Epic or Meditech is a plus • Knowledge of medical coding including CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), along with understanding of medical billing processes including Medicare and insurance claims processing • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10-key), and health information management software • Excellent patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations • Ability to review documentation thoroughly while adhering to HIPAA regulations; experience with documentation review is preferred • Clinic experience or dental office experience is essential; hospital or healthcare facility experience will be considered an asset • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, scheduling, intake procedures, and office management tasks • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exceptional customer service Join us to make a difference in patients’ lives while advancing your career in a supportive and energetic environment!
