Lead and manage quality initiatives and quality assurance team to ensure compliance with ISO standards and continuous process improvements in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 5 years quality assurance experience in manufacturing, specifically in Electronics Manufacturing Services, proven leadership in quality teams, and knowledge of quality management systems and process improvement methodologies.
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading CES’s quality initiatives to drive performance to world-class levels for a manufacturing organization. Plans, coordinates, and directs quality and process improvement programs designed to ensure that all pertinent processes are reviewed and corrected for optimal efficiency and performance. Duties and Responsibilities: · Work in a safe manner following all safety guidelines and regulations · Follow all established procedures, work instructions and other documentation requirements to ensure compliance with the quality management system and ISO requirements · Maintain ISO Certification while simultaneously improving processes and procedure · Responsible for development, implementation, management, and integration of a QMS for CES · Responsible to direct quality initiatives at CES, ensuring that milestones and key metrics are achieved/ exceeded. This includes, but is not limited to, directing both process and “inspection” related activities. · Initiate and implement quality improvement activities as appropriate (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc) to raise the performance of the company’s product lines · Design, implement and document procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection · Educate and train employees as to their impact in the quality management system · Manage quality control staff on a day-to-day basis · Responsible for Service and Repair process (RMA process), including the establishment of a feedback loop through the Go To Market, Engineering and Operations Teams · Working with the Operations Team: · Establish and implement metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions · Support engineering efforts by participating in new product launch meetings representing quality assurance and the customer · Perform root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements · Analyze customers’ product specifications to establish efficient, cost-effective requirements for ease of manufacture and reproducibility · Track, measure and lead initiatives to decrease waste · Improve production floor layout and throughput · Participates in internal and external quality audits · With team, responsible for establishing and managing the collection and analysis of statistical data to predict trends that will affect improvement of product quality · Will assist in the coordination for any partnership quality programs with outside customers and/ or suppliers · Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees in Quality Assurance. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · A minimum of five years’ experience in Quality Assurance in manufacturing; prior experience with an Electronics Manufacturing Services company is REQUIRED · Bachelor’s Degree is a plus · Proven track record leading a quality assurance team · Strong sense of urgency, follow-thru and attention to detail · Very hands-on · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams · Business savvy and common sense · Proficiency with Microsoft products Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.
