Full Description

Company: Confidential Location: Canada or US Work Configuration: Fully Remote Company Overview: Our client is a proud, fully independent game development studio that operates remotely across North America. They maintain a global presence, reflecting their commitment to entertaining a global audience of 3 billion+ players. They are an organization built on the belief that games are the best medium to provide fun, escape, and social connection. They prioritize authentic leadership, real conversations, continuous learning, and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset where everyone is empowered to be a game-maker. They avoid big company politics to focus on their best work. The studio was founded by industry veterans who had previously collaborated for years at a major technology company. They have grown carefully, are now at over 75+ people, and are rapidly expanding due to their strong industry reputation. Role Overview: The client is seeking a highly organized Associate Producer to join their development team. In this role, you will be crucial in organizing, coordinating, sprint planning, and tracking work for the game development process. You will manage the development systems and daily work strategy to help drive quality experiences. You must have a keen ability to create and track estimates, a fine attention to detail, and effectively communicate the game's development progress across disciplines. You will join the team working on both a new internally developed AAA title and a cutting-edge tooling project involving generative AI designed to supercharge game development. You will serve as the right-hand person to the Executive Producer, a leader with decades of production experience who has shipped numerous successful AAA titles across multiple well-known franchises. The art team is also comprised of industry veterans with experience contributing to a wide variety of AAA game franchises. This is a 6-month contract role with strong potential for conversion to a full-time, permanent position based on the success of the prototype phase. Responsibilities: Collaborate with leads to understand high-level architecture and development approach. Manage the planning, scheduling, assigning, and daily tracking of tasks and dependencies across disciplines. Lead sprint planning and tracking, including generating accurate time estimates and velocity tracking. Coordinate and lead all disciplinary meetings, record accurate and pertinent notes, and delegate/follow up on action items. Play the builds, create, organize, and relay feedback for the team, and confirm execution on feedback and specifications. Regularly communicate project status upward and to the team, proactively escalating issues before they become problems. Identify and propose solutions to bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the studio. Document development processes, design decisions, and improve general documentation and file organization. Help the Executive Producer and other company leads with occasional support on side tasks. Requirements: 3+ years of experience in game development as a game producer or equivalent, in collaboration with other technical and non-technical disciplines. Must have shipped at least one full AA/AAA game as a producer. Proficient with standard project management development tools and methods. Exceptional knowledge of ADO, Trello, Jira, or other task tracking systems. Hyper-organized, with a focus on organizing, categorizing, and maintaining databases, file structures, and documentation. Solid understanding of overall game development processes and at least a surface-level understanding of relevant disciplines, including game engineering, art, and audio. Experience and comfort with detailed and accurate project planning. Deep familiarity with sprint planning and burnup and burndown charts. Proficiency in source control systems such as Perforce or Git. Written and spoken English fluency. Ability to work during North American business hours (Pacific Timezone focus). Bonus Qualifications: A portfolio of games you’ve worked on. Additional training in one or more related disciplines (e.g., Art, Audio, Design, Programming, etc). Game development experience in Unreal or other engines. Shipped a game on consoles. Experience in managing other producers and/or small teams. Compensation: The base pay ranges for the Associate Producer role are as follows: Specific geographic pay range for the US is $50,0000-$85,000 USD and for Canada is $63,000-$106,000 CAD. Final amounts are determined by a multiplicity of competing factors, including work experience, transferable skills, training, business needs, and market demands. In other locations, these pay ranges may be adjusted. The Client works hard to offer competitive salaries regardless of location. In addition to competitive salaries, the client offers: Industry-leading healthcare, dental, vision, life, and AD&D benefits. Comprehensive parental leave benefits. Discretionary bonus opportunities. 401(k) with matching. Flexible time-off policy. 10 days of accrued paid time-off, increased to 15 days after three years of employment. 14 paid Client-observed holidays annually. 2.5 paid floating holidays annually (prorated).
