Corewell Health is offering up to $1,500 for Full Time and $750 for Part Time as a sign on bonus for this opportunity! About this unit This 48-bed unit is dedicated to ortho/neuro/trauma. Some specific diagnoses’ are total knee, total hip, spinal fusions, and fractured hips. We are Stroke and Trauma certified and complete additional education every three months to better care for this population of patients. Our multidisciplinary team includes RN’s, nurse techs, nursing assistants, unit secretaries, PT/OT, orthopedic care coordinator and case managers, Nurse to patient ration is 1:4-6 and Nurse Assistant ratio is 1:8-10. This hospital has grown in size and capabilities over the decades to become a Level II trauma center, serving the community since 1965. It also serves as the base teaching hospital for Michigan State University. Scope of work Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.
