Job Title: Traveling Fire Protection Project Manager Location: Primarily traveling to project sites in Springfield, OH, Madison, NC, and other national locations as needed. Position Summary: Conti Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Fire Protection Project Manager with experience in data center projects and union labor coordination. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, values career growth, and is ready to take on leadership responsibilities beyond traditional project management. Key Responsibilities • Project Management • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of fire protection projects across multiple sites. • Develop and maintain 3–6 week look-ahead schedules. • Review contract documents, construction plans, and specifications. • Track project progress against goals, budgets, and timelines; report variances and implement corrective actions. • Conduct daily meetings with foremen and field crews; interpret drawings and resolve technical issues. • Implement change management processes, including client approvals and issuing change orders. • Union Coordination • Work closely with union electricians and field labor, understanding cultural and operational dynamics. • Ensure compliance with union agreements and maintain positive labor relations. • Client & Team Interaction • Attend job meetings, communicate effectively with clients, inspectors, and internal teams. • Collaborate with developers, contractors, and vendors for competitive pricing and project success. • Travel • Position requires extensive travel to project sites nationwide, including data center projects and automotive manufacturing facilities. Required Qualifications • Experience: • Minimum 5–7 years in fire protection project management and estimating. • Proven experience managing data center projects. • Familiarity with union labor environments. • Certifications: • NICET Level III (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) preferred. • Technical Skills: • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and project management software. • Experience with estimating software and financial tracking tools (e.g., COINS). • Other Requirements: • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass drug screening/background check. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to walk job sites and use PPE as required. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Siemens fire alarm equipment. • Fire alarm design and troubleshooting expertise. • Familiarity with automotive manufacturing environments (e.g., GM facilities).
