POSITION SUMMARY The Quality Assurance Technician verifies and documents accurate installation practices completed by field crews in compliance with California Installation Standards. This position ensures all work meets required safety and quality benchmarks by performing post-installation inspections, identifying deficiencies, and providing remediation or corrective support when necessary. The role may also support pre-installation and active installation activities, including communicating expectations to customers, evaluating crew competencies, and recommending or supporting training needs. The position requires routine engagement with internal staff, customers, and external program stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational and program standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Ensure the safety, efficiency, and quality execution of CHOC weatherization projects. • Conduct post-installation inspections of completed jobs in residential homes and multifamily units. • Observe installation activities to assess field crew compliance and performance. • Document and record all inspection results in accordance with California Installation Standards. • Perform hands-on remediation or correction work when needed. • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to crews regarding installation quality and training needs. • Assist with customer service follow-ups and service correction requests. • Generate inspection reports and maintain accurate and complete records of findings, corrections, and training provided. • Collaborate and communicate with implementation partners (RHA and Nexant) and internal leadership to ensure program objectives are achieved. • Meet with stakeholders to provide advisement related to weatherization program operations. Support additional duties as assigned that advance CHOC’s Vision, Mission, and Values. QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or GED equivalent required. • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. • Availability to work full-time hours, including occasional Saturdays. • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance. • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods. • Positive attitude and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to stand, kneel, crawl, or climb for extended periods during inspections and field work. • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. regularly. • Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces. • Ability to operate standard weatherization inspection tools and equipment. • Consistent ability to walk on uneven surfaces, climb stairs or ladders, and work at various heights. • Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands and arms when using tools or performing corrections. • Visual acuity sufficient for detailed inspections, written documentation, and safe field operations. WORKING ENVIRONMENT • Work is primarily performed in residential homes, multifamily units, and outdoor environments. • Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, insulation materials, and other environmental conditions is frequent. • Regular travel to job sites throughout the region is required. • Occasional work in tight or enclosed spaces (attics, crawlspaces). • Work may involve moderate noise levels from tools, equipment, and active construction or installation environments. • Standard office work may also be required for documentation, meetings, and administrative tasks.
