Summary You will serve as a Director of Waterfront Operations in the Port Operations division of COMNAVREGSW SDIEGO. Duties Help • You will coordinate and arrange ship berthing and berthing support, including utilities, cranes, line handlers and customs/agriculture inspections. • You will serve as an advisor to the Port Operations Region Program Director on all aspects of the Naval Vessel Harbor Operation. • You will provide expertise and knowledge in developing standardized methods, policies and procedures. • You will manage the Port Control Division, Port Logistics Center Division, and the Berthing Services Division maintaining a 24 hour per day communication link with all commands. • You will be responsible for coordinating foreign military ship visits within the Area of Responsibility, including briefs, services, customs inspections, stores, and assist the Protocol office with official visits. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Scheduling, de-conflicting and controlling harbor operations, to include, ship/submarine arrivals and departures, operation of service craft, small craft/harbor security movements, and diving and sonar operations; 2) Managing pilotage and tug master services, and traffic control duties for contracted tugs; 3) Scheduling service/water craft in support of Navy Region Southwest Commanders and tenant commands; 4) Maintain records of berth days, arrivals, departures and past berthing assignments; 5) Arranging hotel services; and 6) Schedules short and long-term port loading requirements.
