INTERIM ACCOUNTING MANAGER Company: Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences Location: Remote (EST business hours - MUST BE BASED IN TRI-STATE AREA) Employment Type: Contract/Interim Consulting Role Reports To: CFO and Controller POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking an experienced Interim Accounting Manager to join our finance team on a remote consulting basis. This role requires strong technical accounting skills with a focus on accruals, stock-based compensation, and contract review. The ideal candidate brings pharmaceutical or life sciences industry experience and can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Review and own journal entries including accruals, payroll, cash, fixed assets, and other month-end entries • Prepare complex accruals for medical affairs, commercial affairs, and research functions • Review vendor and partner contracts to identify and evaluate terms related to accrual accounting • Lead cross-functional meetings to discuss project completion percentages and related financial impacts • Assist with ASC 718 stock compensation accounting and related reporting requirements • Support year-end close process (overtime expected during this period) REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred) • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience • 2+ years of experience with a publicly traded company • Life sciences or pharmaceutical industry experience required • Strong understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting principles • Experience with ASC 718 (stock-based compensation) • Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel • Excellent communication and collaboration skills WORK SCHEDULE • Remote position (operate on EST) - MUST BE BASED IN THE TRI-STATE AREA • Flexible start/end times with core business hour availability • Overtime required during year-end close periods MaxSalary: USD160000 MinSalary: USD140000 Remote Skills: Accounting, Accounting Close, Accrual-Basis Accounting, Biology, Biotech and Pharmaceutical, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Communication Skills, Consulting, Contract Review, Cross-Functional, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), Finance, Financial Reporting, Fixed Assets, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Head of Finance, Journal Entries, Medical Affairs, Team Player, Technical Accounting About the Company: CFS Founded by CPA firms in 1994, Creative Financial Staffing has spent over 30 years helping job seekers and employers succeed.
