Some Century team members own or instruct at martial arts schools or spend their after-work hours and weekends competing and training. About the Role: Title: Retail Sales Associate Type: Part-Time - up to 20 hours per week Classification: Non-Exempt / Hourly Summary of Position: The Retail Sales Associate will deliver exceptional customer service, provide product expertise, and drive sales while supporting a smooth shopping experience. Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated. Responsibilities: • Welcoming customers with a friendly demeanor, offering product information, and assisting them in finding items. • Understanding and promoting current sales, promotions, and new products to enhance the customer experience and drive sales. • Maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, including restocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring product areas meet merchandising standards. • Answering customer inquiries regarding products, store policies, and services, providing knowledgeable and helpful responses to enhance satisfaction. • Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, processing payments, handling returns, and managing customer transactions efficiently and accurately. • Assisting in inventory management tasks, including receiving shipments, conducting stock counts, and reporting low stock or product discrepancies to management. • Supporting loss prevention efforts by monitoring the sales floor, reporting suspicious activity, and following security policies. • Collaborating with fellow team members to achieve sales targets, meet store goals, and contribute to a positive team environment. • Reporting to the Store Manager or Assistant Manager, ensuring that daily tasks align with store goals and standards. Preferred Qualifications: • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members. • Ability to work a flexible schedule • Basic math skills for handling cash and managing sales transactions accurately. • An interest in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and martial arts to better connect with our customers. Minimum Qualifications: • Previous experience in retail, sales, or customer service. • Familiarity with POS systems and other retail technology. • Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate weights for extended periods, in alignment with the physical demands of retail work. • A high school diploma or equivalent. Physical Demands: • Sitting – 25% daily • Standing or walking – 75% daily (may require more infrequently) • Visual acuity (20/40 – correctable by glasses/contacts) • Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling up to 40 lbs. with assistance • Talking and Hearing Flexible Scheduling Available -Late morning through afternoon 12 to 20 hours per week
