7+ years software engineering or solutions architecture experience, 2+ years pre-sales, expertise in cloud, microservices, integrations, frontend/backend development, and relevant certifications preferred.
As a Pre-Sales Technical Solutions Engineer, you will be the technical bridge between our sales team and prospective clients. You will lead discovery sessions, architect high-level solutions, deliver compelling technical presentations and demos, and craft responses to RFPs/RFIs. This role demands deep expertise in custom application development, modern architectures, and the ability to translate complex business challenges into clear, credible technical roadmaps for enterprises with 1,000+ employees. You will focus exclusively on custom-built applications (web, mobile, cloud-native, integration platforms) — not off-the-shelf SaaS or low-code/no-code tools. Key Responsibilities Partner with Account Executives to qualify opportunities and conduct technical discovery workshops with C-suite, VP, and Director-level stakeholders. Design high-level solution architectures (diagrams, data flows, tech stack recommendations) tailored to enterprise-scale requirements. Deliver live technical demos, POCs, and whiteboard sessions showcasing custom development capabilities. Lead RFP/RFI responses, including technical write-ups, effort estimates, risk assessments, and TCO models. Build and maintain reusable demo assets, reference architectures, and proof-of-concept codebases. Stay ahead of industry trends in enterprise application development, cloud platforms, AI/ML integration, and DevSecOps. Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, and profitable. Preferred Experience 7+ years in software engineering, solutions architecture, or technical pre-sales. 2+ years in pre-sales or sales engineering supporting enterprise application development in a consultative organization and environment Proven track record closing enterprise deals with organizations of 1,000+ employees (manufacturing, healthcare, financial services, retail, or logistics preferred). Hands-on experience designing and scoping full-stack custom applications - Frontend, Backend, integrations and data layer. Deep expertise in at least two of the following domains: Cloud-native development (AWS, Azure, GCP) Microservices & event-driven architectures (Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Istio) Enterprise integration (API gateways, ESB, iPaaS, EDI) Modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) with design system experience Secure backend development (Java/Spring Boot, .NET Core, Node.js, Python) Technical Knowledge & Proficiencies Category Preferred Cloud Platforms AWS or Azure (Solutions Architect level); GCP a plus Architecture Microservices, Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, Event Sourcing, 12-Factor Apps DevOps & CI/CD GitOps, Terraform, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins Security & Compliance OAuth2/OIDC, Zero Trust, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS Data & AI SQL/NoSQL, Data Mesh, Kafka, basic ML integration (SageMaker, Azure ML) Estimation Function Point, Story Point, T-Shirt sizing; ROM vs. detailed BOM Certifications Desired AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert CISSP, CCSP, or CISM (preferred) Soft Skills & Competencies Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills — can simplify complexity for non-technical executives. Strong business acumen — understands P&L impact, ROI, and TCO. Consultative discovery: asks probing questions to uncover unstated needs. Comfortable in C-suite conversations (CIO, CTO, CDO, VP of Digital). Ability to defend technical decisions under pressure while maintaining rapport. Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (Master’s preferred). MBA or business-oriented coursework a plus. Base salary (100,000-130,000) + eligible for commission.
