Role and Responsibilities: You will support warehouse operations by performing freight handling tasks, maintaining safety standards, and contributing to an efficient work environment. Under supervision, you will handle loading, unloading, and material movement to meet customer expectations. • Load and unload freight from trailers, trucks, and other vehicles using manual methods or site equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts. • Move pallets and materials to designated storage or staging areas within the facility. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with site and OSHA safety standards. • Accurately handle freight, verifying shipments, checking for damages, and completing required documentation. • Communicate effectively with Site Supervisors and Managers regarding dock conditions, accomplishments, concerns, and suggestions for improvements. • Calculate and communicate load pricing to drivers, collect fees, and balance at the end of the shift as required. • Operate independently when needed to accomplish tasks, while collaborating effectively with teammates. • Contribute to operational efficiency and support company goals by following all policies and procedures. • Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations. Required Skills and Experience: • High-energy, motivated individual with a strong work ethic. • Ability to work independently with limited supervision. • Capability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. • Handles freight as directed by management and customers while maintaining safety and quality standards. • Flexibility to work varying schedules based on operational needs. Preferred Qualifications: • Safety Awareness: Understands and applies safe work practices to prevent injury or damage. • Teamwork: Works collaboratively with peers and site leadership to achieve operational goals. • Customer Focus: Maintains high standards in handling freight to meet customer expectations. • Problem Solving: Exercises judgment to address routine operational challenges. • Attention to Detail: Ensures shipments are accurate, logged properly, and placed in the correct locations.
