The maximum salary range is reserved for candidates that far exceed the required and preferred qualifications for the role.This is a 10-day posting, which will close on December 11, 2025 at 11:59pm.Position Overview: The Division of Educator Data, Research, and Strategy (EDRS) provides analytical leadership and support for departments across the Office of Educator Systems and Support. EDRs supported the Authorizing department in support of their mission. The Authorizing department cultivates innovative, high-quality learning opportunities and provides Texas families with the necessary information to access these options. The aim is to support more students in finding high-quality, best-fit schools. TEA assists LEAs in creating diverse options, including charter and virtual/hybrid schools, through start-up and replication grants, accelerator programs, and incubation supports. It establishes authorizing best practices across Texas through multiple technical assistance pathways and ensures the portfolio of opportunities for Texas families is of high quality through evaluation, monitoring, and oversight.This analyst plays a critical role in the development of data required for the execution of the Educator Savings Account program as well as other key initiatives within the Department of Authorizing. Reporting to the Director for Educator Data, Research and Strategy - Authorizing team, the person in this role writes SAS code to extract and transform data sets for delivery to external and internal clients. They develop and maintain key reporting deliverables providing accurate information about initiatives for monitoring and continuous improvement. This analyst builds and updates reports, dashboards, and other data products, and develops, revises, runs, and troubleshoots SAS programs to systematize data cleaning and analysis. The person in this role assists in defining, developing, and implementing data standards, assists in developing data quality measures, develops and maintains data storage and documentation, and implements necessary changes to ensure data quality improvement. The analyst works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Flexible work location within the state of Texas may be considered for qualified candidates. Essential FunctionsJob duties are not limited to the essential functions mentioned below. You may perform other functions as assigned.1. Client support: Datasets and Reports: Design, develop, test, and execute SAS code to query, compile, and manipulate data required for Educator Savings Accounts and other identified projects from the Authorizing department. Perform complex analysis on the relationships between data, build data visualizations, interpret findings, identify data patterns and communicate results and key insights to respond to identified client unit. Support the creation of all necessary state, federal, and internal reporting, including Public Information Requests. 2. Client support: Data Collection tools: Design, develop, test, and implement data collection tools including surveys and forms using software such as Qualtrics and Smartsheets. Review and manipulate collected data to identify trends, generate insights, and present key findings to identified client units.3. Client support: Strategic Advising: Serve as an essential partner to identified client units, guide decision-making and align EDRS collaborations with clients' needs and goals. 4. Quality Assurance: Conducts quality review of data sets and other analytical products created or received by the EDRS - Authorizing unit, acting on feedback from other team members to systematically improve data and visualization products. 5. Documentation: Develop, implement, test, and document technical work related to the EDRS - Authorizing unit and other internal projects within TEA. Maintain data governance standards, management tools, usage guidelines, and any storage procedures.
