The company’s mission is “Transforming patients’ lives through science,” supported by values of passion, innovation, urgency, accountability, inclusion and integrity. ## Role Summary This is a 10-week paid Summer Internship (2026) in the MBA Finance Associates Program (FAP), based in central New Jersey (Princeton LVL). The internship offers hands-on finance experience across budgeting, R&D portfolio and forecasting work, mentorship from finance leaders, professional development workshops and networking — and provides strong consideration for full-time placement in the FAP for top performers. ## Key Responsibilities - Support development of operating budgets and financial plans for business units and projects - Assist with R&D portfolio allocation analysis and financial forecasting for developmental compounds - Analyze operating performance and prepare variance analyses and performance summaries - Evaluate returns on capital expenditures and perform investment return analyses - Build and maintain financial models and perform scenario analyses in Excel - Prepare presentations and financial documentation for stakeholders and senior management - Participate in professional development workshops and cross-functional team meetings - Collaborate with finance partners across the organization and support ad-hoc financial projects ## Required Qualifications - Currently enrolled in an accredited Master of Business Administration (MBA) program and on track to graduate by Spring 2027 - Authorized to work in the United States at time of hire and for the duration of employment (no visa sponsorship available) - Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in academic or work environments and adapt messages for different audiences ## Preferred Qualifications - 3 to 5 years of prior work experience (preferred) - Strong financial, analytical and intellectual capabilities with the ability to learn new, complex concepts quickly - Proven financial modeling skills, advanced Excel proficiency - Ability to influence and work effectively in a matrix organization - Leadership potential, professionalism, integrity and strong teamwork skills - Experience with financial/accounting software (ability to learn tools quickly) - Strong time management and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively ## Compensation & Benefits - Starting pay rate: $52.00 per hour (listed starting hourly compensation for this assignment) - This is a temporary, time-bound internship; final individual compensation and benefits are determined by the employer of record and may vary - Benefits and perks (eligibility may vary by job/location) may include: medical, pharmacy, dental and vision coverage - Wellbeing programs, employee assistance programs (EAP) and financial well-being resources including 401(k) - Financial protection benefits such as short- and long-term disability and life insurance - Paid national holidays, optional holidays, Global Shutdown Days (year-end), up to 120 hours paid vacation, up to two paid volunteer days, sick time, and summer hours flexibility - Parental, caregiver, bereavement and military leave; family care services (adoption/surrogacy reimbursement, fertility/infertility benefits, support for traveling mothers, child/elder/pet care resources) - Tuition reimbursement and recognition programs ## Company Culture & Values - BMS emphasizes a supportive, inclusive culture that encourages applying individual talents and diverse perspectives - Core values include passion, innovation, urgency, accountability, inclusion and integrity - The company promotes high-visibility learning environments, mentoring, and strong alumni and leadership exposure for program participants - BMS recommends COVID-19 vaccination and provides accommodations and accessibility during recruitment and employment ## Additional Information - Location: Princeton LVL, central New Jersey, United States (internship is site-based in central NJ) - Work arrangement: Internship is based in central New Jersey; onsite presence is expected for this role consistent with BMS occupancy policies (site-essential/site-by-design rules may apply) - Duration: 10-week paid internship; temporary/time-bound for the internship period - Advancement: Top-performing interns receive strong consideration for full-time roles in the MBA Finance Associates Program, which includes four six-month rotations for full-time hires - Application & accommodations: Applicants are encouraged to apply even if not a perfect resume match.
