Systems Engineering Manager (Level K) Company: The Boeing Company The Customer Support organization is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager (Level K) to join our team in Seal Beach, California. The selected individual will be leading the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) team and responsible for managing employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Systems Engineering. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals. Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees. Specifically, the ICA team has an integral role in the certification at every new Type Certificate, every Amended Type Certificate, every Major Change to Type Design, and Delivery of new Aircraft. This position requires working closely with engineering, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and other departments to gather required information and ensure that ICA documents are comprehensive and accurate for airworthiness. Position Responsibilities: Leads people and encourages their development and success Continuously evaluates and acts on potential safety and compliance concerns Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding ICA-related matters, providing updates on project status and addressing any concerns or questions. Ensure that all ICA documents meet the requirements set forth by aviation regulatory bodies, such as the FAA or EASA, and stay updated on any changes in regulations. Identify potential risks associated with ICA projects and develop mitigation strategies to address them. Understand the key performance indicators (KPIs) related to ICA to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of ICA processes and projects. Facilitate the continuous improvement and accountability, and overall success of the organization. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams 2+ years of experience working with internal or external stakeholders (e.g. business partners, airline customers, finance, external suppliers, etc.) Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from conception to completion Ability to travel for business needs Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Knowledge of Regulatory Agencies and airplane certification process Flexibility, adaptability and comfortable with a variable work statement. Must be a self-starter, adept at leading projects and influencing people across multiple organizations. Fosters a healthy, creative, and productive team environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of innovative solutions in engineering challenges. Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement. Proven ability to manage and empower teams in ambiguous environments. Excellent program management skills, with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Relocation: This position does not offer relocation.
