Position Overview Blueprint seeks a Communications Strategist with demonstrated experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies. As a key mid-level contributor, you will work alongside senior strategists, program managers, and DoD leadership to develop and execute mission-critical communication campaigns that align with military culture, priorities, and audiences. Your mission: shape narratives, synchronize campaigns, and develop messaging frameworks that drive clarity, alignment, and stakeholder engagement across DoD initiatives. Location Washington, DC/ Arlington, VA area Core Responsibilities Strategic Communications Develop short- and long-term communications plans aligned with DoD priorities Draft messaging frameworks, key messages, and segmentation strategies Synchronize communication efforts across divisions, stakeholders, and contractors Campaign Execution Support communication campaigns: content calendars, briefs, tactical plans Identify amplification opportunities across digital, community, and media platforms Collaborate with designers, writers, and digital teams to ensure strategic alignment Research & Analysis Research programs, policies, and audience insights to inform strategies Monitor public sentiment and media for proactive messaging opportunities Contribute to performance evaluation and campaign refinement Stakeholder Engagement Prepare talking points and event materials for leadership and external stakeholders Engage veteran groups, families, and partner organizations in outreach efforts Required Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree or higher in Strategic Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, Political Science, or related field. Experience 3–6 years of experience in communication planning, campaign support, or public affairs, preferably within a military, federal, or public sector environment. Skills & Competencies Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt messages to diverse audiences. Familiarity with Army structure, values, and communication protocols preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Desirable Attributes Experience working on military or federal communications initiatives. Understanding of Army strategic priorities such as modernization, readiness, and integrated deterrence.
