Assist product development and sustaining engineering teams in designing, prototyping, verifying, and validating medical devices and implants.
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering, preferred wet lab experience, proficiency in CREO and VISIO, and strong organizational skills.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Product Development team with design and development of medical devices, as well as supporting sustaining engineering activities for launched products in the Trauma Portfolio. Essential Functions • Designing and developing instruments and implants • Using CREO and VISIO software to update CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing procedures • Working with in-house prototype shop and outside vendors for rapid prototyping and evaluation • Performing design verification and validation activities to ensure designs meet specifications • Collaborating with in-house engineers, surgeons, and outside vendors to ensure high quality products • Assisting with the creation of project plans and Design history Files (DHF) for each project • Partnering with engineers on all aspects of various projects • Assisting with marketing and product managers to develop forecasts and market plans • Ensures all systems are run according to manufacturer instructions, Safety requirements and guidelines, and SOPs • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. Qualifications • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline • Experience with wet lab work (e.g. mammalian cell culturing and analytical testing) preferred • Experience with CREO and VISIO software for design and drafting preferred • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook • Strong self-starting skills, well organized, detail-oriented and capable of working in a deadline driven environment • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
