About the position Responsibilities • Carpentry: Basic knowledge of rough and finished carpentry repair of structures such as partitions, walls, doors, fences, window frames, office furniture, roofs, and shelves. • Electrical: Basic knowledge of electrical repair work for switches, outlets, plugs, cables, appliances, and lighting systems; reports unsafe electrical conditions. • Plumbing: Basic knowledge of repairs of plumbing leaks or breaks; opens clogged lines and drains; replaces seals and other minor parts; maintains drinking fountains, replaces, repairs and maintains hot water heaters and other appliances. • Painting: Applies and prepares various surfaces of paint, enamel, lacquer, varnish, or stain and repairs wall coverings • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment • Performing preventive maintenance tasks on a variety of equipment. • As assigned by Director, Facility Manager and Dispatcher Requirements • Requires ability to use general tools • Basic knowledge of the following: carpentry, plumbing, painting, appliance repair, electrical wiring and maintenance of hand tools and equipment • Ability to follow directions • Must respond quickly in the event of any emergency, notify appropriate personnel • Must have the ability to prioritize work • Must be able to follow safety standards • Must be able to communicate effectively • Knowledge level that typically comes with 1-2 years of work experience within the field. • Basic mechanical and carpentry experience. Nice-to-haves • Industry certifications and or trade school diplomas are a plus.
