They are seeking a data/software engineer to develop and maintain genetic knowledgebases, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance clinical diagnostics workflows. Responsibilities • Implementation and execution of data ETL, management and engineering. • Development of user interfaces for curation and data maintenance tools based on user requirements. • Enhance data and knowledge processing effectiveness and efficiency, and improve workflows for internal data analysis, interpretation, and clinical report writing in daily production clinical operations. • Implementation of data models and software frameworks to effectively store and process data, information, and clinical insights. Utilized dog as a software framework. • Monitor database performance and proactively optimize queries and processes for improved efficiency. • Collaborates in a multidisciplinary and regulated clinical diagnostics environment with geneticists, bioinformaticians, software engineers, and IT infrastructure professionals. Skills • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, a comparable program, or an equivalent qualification, with 3+ years of comprehensive experience in related field • Experience in Python, R, or C++ • Experience in data ETL, data management, and data sharing for genomic and clinical applications, especially for next generation human sequencing data • Knowledgeable of database management systems in SQL database • Understanding of database architecture, design, and optimization • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment • DevOps experience such as unit testing, CI/CD is a plus Company Overview • Baylor Genetics offers a full spectrum of cost-effective, genetic testing, and provides clinically relevant solutions.
