Manager of BARR Training Location: Flexible, with some travel required Job Type: 1.0 FTE Description: The BARR Center Manager of BARR Training will support the management of the day-to-day operations of the BARR training and coaching team. This position ensures high-quality implementation of the BARR model at scale by providing training, assessing, and improving the performance of trainers and coaches in action. This position will support the mentoring of other BARR coaches and may also involve direct service delivery of the BARR model through coaching schools. The Manager of BARR Training will report directly to the Senior Director of BARR Coaching and Schools. Specific Responsibilities Include: Training • Coordinate BARR training for BARR schools across the country, including the scheduling of training events with schools, assignment of trainers, coordination of travel, shipments of materials, and supporting any after-hours/emergency needs of the training team • Provide training services to schools and staff for internal training-of-trainer events • Participate in performance communication sessions with trainers to measure progress on goals and development plans, and provide feedback on progress regularly, including formal annual performance reviews Coaching • Provide BARR coaching services to BARR schools • Provide mentoring supports to new hires • Provide quality oversight for the delivery of coaching services to BARR schools by maintaining and training on systems and tools that can be used to discover patterns in behaviors and data across the growing network of BARR schools • Support and attend BARR Coordinator PLCs, Professional Development workshops, coaching calls, and all other meetings as required. • Participate in performance communication sessions with coaches to measure progress on goals and development plans, and provide feedback on progress regularly, including formal annual performance reviews Conference • Support the annual BARR conference; specifically the school-participation opportunities of breakout sessions and poster gallery submissions, including managing the coordination of submissions and selection process, and the on-site logistics during the conference Supervision • Facilitate the selection, placement, and development of possible full-time employees, part-time, on-call, employees, and team managers. • Conduct one-on-one performance communication sessions with direct reports to measure progress on goals, development plans, and provide feedback on progress on a regular basis, including formal annual performance reviews • Maintain current job descriptions for all supervised positions • Hold staff accountable to organizational philosophy, strategies, policies, and procedures • Create a culture of collaboration and respect by balancing the needs of the employees with the needs of the organization and its customers • Role model positive collaboration between internal and external work groups • Serve as an ambassador for the organization in everything done as a representative of the BARR Center • Other duties as assigned Qualifications: • Education professional with at least four years of experience in a school leadership role • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills • Collaborative and team-focused • Passionate about BARR’s mission to improve education for all students Salary and Benefits: • Competitive base salary
