Director of Finance job at Axios Professional Recruitment. Detroit, MI. We are seeking a highly motivated CPA-certified finance leader to oversee accounting operations and partner closely with Innovo’s principals. This is a unique opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who thrives in a high-growth, relationship-driven environment. Reporting directly to the executive team, this individual will play a critical role in shaping Innovo’s financial strategy, managing audits, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. This is an onsite role in Detroit, Michigan. Responsibilities: • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain transparency for investors, lenders, and regulators. • Lead and coordinate external and internal audits. • Build and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic investment initiatives. • Partner directly with private equity firms, institutional lenders, investment trusts, and other financial stakeholders. • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to support growth and investment strategies. • Collaborate with external accounting partners. • Evaluate and improve accounting systems and processes. • Mentor and support finance/accounting team members as the company grows. Qualifications: • CPA certification required. • 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally with exposure to real estate development, investment, or related industries. • Proven experience working with private equity, money market banks, and/or Wall Street-level institutions. • Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. • Prior audit management experience (internal and external). • Detail-oriented and highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to grow with the business and take on increasing responsibility. • Excellent communication skills; ability to present financials and insights directly to executives, partners, and clients.
