Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business, proven automotive sales/business development experience, strong Michigan OEM/Tier 1 network, contract negotiation skills, and willingness to travel locally.
ATN is partnered with a globally recognised Service Provider in its keen search for an experienced Senior Director of Sales and Business Development to focus on landing and expanding with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers across the USA - with a big focus on the Big 3! This is a role to be located in Detroit, Michigan. With a flexible on-site presence (possibility to be remote), and consistent travel within Michigan required. Responsibilities • Develop and execute sales strategies targeting US-based automotive OEMs, and Tier 1 suppliers with a focus on the big 3 in Michigan. • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities through both hunting and farming existing accounts • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at OEMs and Tier 1s • Lead sales negotiations, proposal development, and contract management • Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to align solutions with client needs • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform strategic planning • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings in the Detroit region • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and executive-level presentations • Drive revenue growth while maintaining high customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships Candidate Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred • Proven track record of success in automotive sales or business development, preferably within engineering services • Strong network and established contacts with Michigan based OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers • Ability to both hunt for new clients and grow existing accounts • Experience negotiating complex contracts and managing multi-million-dollar deals • Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills • Willingness to travel locally within the Michigan area and occasionally to other U.S. locations ATN is an exclusive search partner for staffing solutions across the global Automotive industry.
