Department: Finance Reports To: Director, Corporate Accounting & External Reporting FLSA Status: Exempt Job Overview: The Manager, Corporate Accounting will serve as a key contributor within the Finance organization, acting as a liaison between cross-functional stakeholders and fostering positive, effective communication across various departments and levels of the Company. This role encompasses both corporate and operational accounting responsibilities, with a primary focus on accounting for Internally Developed Software (IDSW). As a strategic business partner to the Global Technology Finance team, the Manager, Corporate Accounting will lead and support the month-end close process for IT-related activities, ensuring all closing activities are performed in a timely manner and reporting deadlines are met. This position includes direct oversight of one team member and involves managing and developing accounting staff through mentorship, guidance, and professional growth opportunities. The responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive and may evolve based on the candidate’s strengths and the team’s needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Supervise and direct support for the accumulation of the Company’s centrally incurred technology-related expenses (labor and non-labor charges) and the proper bookkeeping to allocate those expenses to the Company’s business regions • Maintain a thorough understanding of the IDSW process narrative and related internal controls; responsible for periodic updates and ensuring controls are in place and operating effectively • Oversee accounting for IDSW by evaluating projects for capitalization in accordance with US GAAP and ensuring timely placement into service when ready for intended use • Lead the accounting process for cloud platform charges, including the capitalization of eligible cloud-related costs in compliance with applicable guidelines • Manage accounting for other IT related activities such as professional fees, cost allocations, wireless and telephony expenses and related payments, with the ability to quickly identify gaps in data, logic, or facts and to resolve the same • Review hosting and cloud arrangements, service contracts, and statements of work for potential capitalization of development related costs in accordance with US GAAP • Oversee outsourced accounting services for select international subsidiaries, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting under corporate oversight • Identify and implement continuous process improvements and automation within areas of responsibility to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the corporate accounting function • Prepare and/or review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations as necessary • Assist in managing the external financial reporting schedule and coordination with internal parties and external auditors to ensure deadlines are met for assigned reports • Review multiple sets of US GAAP audited and unaudited financial statements for issuance to external parties • Other projects or workstreams as directed by management Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; MBA or advanced degree is a plus • CPA certification strongly preferred • 5-7 years of related professional experience, including 1-2 years in a supervisory capacity • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal control frameworks • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel • Experience with Microsoft DAX and/or OneStream is a plus • Technical accounting experience is a plus • Knowledge of IT accounting concepts and terminology is a plus Other Characteristics: • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines • Embraces a continuous improvement mindset and adapts readily to change • Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal/written communication • Demonstrates independence and sound judgement, working effectively with minimal supervision • Self-directed and comfortable navigating ambiguity; adjusts easily to shifting priorities and evolving business conditions • Ability to consistently meet the demands of a rapidly growing, fast-paced, complex and entrepreneurial environment • Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization, including key personnel within our international regions • Willing and able to work flexible hours to meet deadlines and support global operations • Ability to hold others accountable while preserving strong working relationships NOTE: THIS JOB DESCRIPTION IS NOT DESIGNED TO COVER OR CONTAIN A COMPREHENSIVE LISTING OF ACTIVITIES, DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES THAT ARE REQUIRED OF THE EMPLOYEE.
