Support the Billing Backbone of a Multi-State DME Provider Aspen Lake Medical Equipment is seeking an experienced Insurance Biller to join our billing team supporting patients and providers across California, Texas, Massachusetts, and beyond. This role focuses on billing and collections for Durable Medical Equipment (DME), especially respiratory products such as CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen therapy, nebulizers, and ventilators. We’re looking for someone who brings accuracy, consistency, and clarity to the insurance billing process, whether you’re working from home or based in one of our branch offices. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and submit 200–400 claims monthly for DME and respiratory products using Brightree or similar platforms. • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before claim submission. • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility using payer tools including Noridian, CGS, Availity, UHC, and others. • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims; process appeals and resubmissions as needed. • Coordinate with internal teams (intake, delivery, customer service) to resolve documentation or authorization issues. • Maintain organized records in compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements. • Communicate professionally with patients, referral sources, and insurance providers when needed. Ideal Candidate • 1+ year of experience in healthcare insurance billing (DME or respiratory strongly preferred). • Proficient with Brightree or comparable HME billing platforms. • Experience with insurance eligibility systems and payer portals (Noridian, CGS, Availity, UHC, etc.). • Strong understanding of common respiratory billing codes and documentation requirements. • Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented—able to manage high claim volume independently. • Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with distributed teams. • Knowledge of CMS billing guidelines and current DME compliance standards.
