Ascend Wellness Holdings ("AWH") is seeking a hands-on, strategic, and customer-obsessed Senior Manager, eCommerce Digital Merchandising to lead the development, execution, and optimization of digital merchandising strategies across Ascend's omnichannel platforms. This is a working leader role deeply involved in day-to-day execution while setting the long-term vision and strategy for how customers discover, shop, and connect with Ascend online. The Senior Manager is in the paint translating brand and commercial objectives into high-impact digital experiences that drive conversion, basket size, and loyalty. This leader combines data-driven insight with creative storytelling to ensure every product, promotion, and page reinforces Ascend's brand promise and deepens customer connection. The Sr. Manager oversees the digital assortment, merchandising calendar, and promotional strategy across Ascend's eCommerce ecosystem, aligning digital execution with retail initiatives, customer needs, and measurable KPIs. Location: Remote with preference to candidates who reside in or near our states of operation. (IL, MI, OH, PA, NJ, MA, MD) Key Responsibilities • Serve as a working leader who defines strategy and executes in the details, owning digital merchandising KPIs tied to conversion, AOV, retention, and customer satisfaction. • Lead all aspects of digital merchandising, including assortment planning, product categorization, pricing alignment, promotional cadence, and digital shelf optimization. • Develop and execute the online merchandising strategy to maximize sales, conversion, and profitability across AWH's eCommerce and omnichannel ecosystem. • Champion the customer journey by ensuring every digital touchpoint from homepage to checkout-reflects Ascend's focus on convenience, discovery, and loyalty. • Partner with Marketing to plan, launch, and measure product drops, promotions, and content updates that balance commercial goals with brand storytelling. • Collaborate with Brand, Commercial, and Retail teams to ensure online product presentation aligns with in-store priorities, marketing campaigns, and wholesale objectives. • Use analytics and consumer insights to guide decisions on assortment, pricing, and merchandising effectiveness; identify opportunities to enhance performance and engagement. • Actively monitor site metrics and dashboards, adjusting strategy and execution in real time to meet and exceed defined KPIs. • Manage and enhance the visual presentation of products online, ensuring consistent brand storytelling and compliance with state-specific cannabis regulations. • Lead ongoing site testing (A/B, multivariate) for merchandising layouts, product placements, and content modules to improve engagement and conversion rates. • Translate customer feedback and behavioral data into actionable improvements that strengthen assortment, navigation, and overall user experience. • Partner with Operations to align digital availability and demand forecasting with supply readiness and retail cadence. • Collaborate with Technology and UX teams to improve product discovery, navigation, and category experience through iterative testing and user insights. • Support SEO and CRM strategies by ensuring product data integrity, tagging, and categorization optimize visibility and personalization. • Prepare and present merchandising performance updates and insights to the VP, eCommerce and cross-functional leadership. • Stay ahead of eCommerce and digital merchandising innovations by proactively testing new tools, formats, and experiences that elevate the customer journey and differentiate Ascend's digital retail presence. Supervisory Responsibilities • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for digital merchandising, operations, analytics, and platform management. • Establish clear performance objectives and provide regular feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities to enhance team capabilities. • Oversee workload allocation, goal setting, and performance management within the eCommerce Digital Merchandising function. Qualifications & Skills • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or related field; MBA a plus. • 8+ years of experience in eCommerce or digital merchandising, ideally within a consumer-packaged goods (CPG), retail, or vertically integrated brand environment. • Cannabis industry experience a plus but not required. • Demonstrated success driving online sales performance through digital merchandising, product storytelling, and promotional strategy. • Strong analytical mindset with hands-on experience using eCommerce data and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Shopify, Tableau, Power BI, or similar). • Ability to interpret KPIs and translate analytics into actionable insights and business strategies. • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within the cannabis industry and applies state-specific rules to digital merchandising and online marketing practices. • Strong understanding of online customer behavior, conversion optimization, and product lifecycle management. • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapidly evolving environment. • Collaborative and communicative leader who partners effectively across Marketing, Retail, Supply Chain, and Technology functions. • Experience with SEO, product taxonomy, and digital content best practices. • Demonstrated curiosity about emerging digital commerce trends, visual merchandising innovations, and evolving consumer expectations. • Operates with discretion, judgment, and confidentiality when handling sensitive business and product information. • Ability to travel occasionally to retail sites or corporate offices as business needs require, with reasonable accommodation provided. Work Environment This position primarily performs duties in a remote office setting when not onsite in a dispensary or manufacturing facility environment. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, this position is regularly required to sit and regularly use hand(s) to handle, grasp, feel, and or touch.
